Honeycomb texture
« on: April 14, 2012, 06:45:55 AM »
I wanted to use the honeycomb texture I put on the Yellow Jacket car from a few years back, but it's lost forever. After searching, I really liked and downloaded this one:

http://browse.deviantart.com/?q=honeycomb&order=9&offset=120#/d3fs1an

but it's in PAT (whatever that is) and it won't open in my PSP 10. I contacted the creator on Deviantart about acquiring a workable PSP version but was told:

my pattern are for adobe photoshop...
i dont think that there is a way to use it in other programms... sry

Any help? I've attached a car I painted using a different honeycomb texture, but it doesn't show up well in the race vids:

PAT is short for pattern. It is loaded in photoshop patterns folder.
I know patterns can be made from images in psp, Just not sure how yet. here is an image if you can find time to run thru the help files to make a pattern.

Thanks! I've messed with it a little bit already, but can already see that I've got a lot to learn. I actually thought that his file was going to be like a PSD with at least 3 different layers of the different (3D looking) honeycomb textures that were shown on his page. I guess I was wrong!

Tony send me the car psp file, maybe in spare time I can try some patterns out in photoshop. And see what you think.

I appreciate the offer bud, but you go work on your own project.  :) This car is already entered and running (and winning!) so it's not a pressing matter at the moment. I may upgrade the honeycomb at some point, but you've done a lot to help me already! Don't know what I'd do without you, Darren. :)
